5Solid as a rock, fun for years  Oct 30, 2012
By A. Sackett
Got this set used at a garage sale when my son was around 3 years old. We planned on just storing it until he was older, but he LOVED watching the little marbles go and quickly learned how to treat the set "nice" so he didn't knock it over. It quickly became a favorite and still is. He's now 4 1/2 and is starting to really learn how to put the thing together and manipulate it. Great for spatial learning. I can see than in the years to come he's going to enjoy exploring making his own structures and tracks. I wouldn't be surprised if he plays with this set until he's 10 or even older.

Unlike many plastic marble runs, this wooden set is very stable as long as it's on a flat surface (it's a little less stable on carpet but still better than most other marble runs). It never leans or bends under its own weight or the weight of the marbles. However, the pieces interlock but don't snap together, meaning that a careless arm or foot can send a whole section crashing down.

The set is very well-built and aesthetically appealing. Great engineering and design. Colors are vivid, making this a beautiful toy to leave out for a while. Also, it comes with a booklet showing a few different patterns that can be built with the set. The instructions contain no words (like a Lego or IKEA manual), which is great for my pre-reading 4-year-old. He has as much fun building the set as he does watching the marbles roll down afterward!

5Great toy!  Dec 18, 2011
By Diana
I love this toy although there is no way a 4yr old could build the intricate towers in the manual. The manual is also confusing because it's hard to distinguish between the green blocks and teal blocks. However, once built, hours of entertainment. It's definitely a toy my son will use for many years. I can't wait to get the musical set!

5Highest quality  Feb 16, 2014

Fantastic construction. Heirloom quality. Easy accessibility: my 9 year old daughter loves it as do her friends. The price is steep but will last for generations.

5Lots of fun, but time consuming for parents  Feb 05, 2013
By J. Hickingbotham
We bought this for our son for Xmas. Love it. It is really a fun toy, but be warned that it takes a long time to set up. It can be very frustrating when it gets knocked over. Would buy it again in a heartbeat.

5Christmas Gift  Jan 14, 2013
By Patricia Jung
I have not used this myself. Gift for grandsons. They seem to like it a lot and I also ordered the Quadrilla Extension set for them. So, they can build and build. It is intriguing and I believe they will use this for many years.
